Spring Time Preparation
Spring is a great time of the year to prepare your turf for a healthy growing season. As warm season turf grasses come out of dormancy and begin to green up, aerification is a key effort to assist in the health of our lawn areas. Roots need oxygen and water to survive and this process is the most efficient way to achieve that goal. This also allows microbes to thrive and break down nutrients in the soil that benefit the turf. Following the aerification process topdressing with a high content sand material and fertilizer application is a great addition to this process. These essential turf management practices at the RELLIS campus assist in turf health and aesthetics through the spring and summer months.
